A Sunday Recognition Brunch Honoring Chef Norman Van Aken Join us on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 9 AM to Noon at Half Shell Raw Bar for a special oyster-themed brunch honoring acclaimed Chef Norman Van Aken, as part of the inaugural Key West Oyster Fest Weekend. Chef Norman will be in attendance for this special culinary experience, celebrating his deep connection to Key West and his lasting influence on Florida's culinary scene. The pioneer of New World Cuisine, Van Aken's Key West roots date back to the late 1970s, when the island helped shape his culinary identity. Now, nearly five decades later, he returns for a weekend celebrating the food, people, and community that helped inspire his career. A highlight of the brunch will be the presentation of the inaugural Key West & Monroe County Culinary Legacy Award, recognizing Chef Norman's contributions to Key West, the Florida Keys, and beyond. Guests will enjoy an oyster-themed brunch at the historic Half Shell Raw Bar while taking part in this special tribute.
