Festival season in the Florida Keys is basically year-round, but the heavy hitters cluster around fall and winter. Fantasy Fest in late October is the biggest and weirdest. Ten days of parades, costume parties, and street festivals in Key West. Hemingway Days in July is the second-biggest in Key West (literary panels, look-alike contest, marlin tournament). Goombay Festival runs the weekend before Fantasy Fest. Up the Keys: the Original Florida Keys Seafood Festival, the Original Marathon Seafood Festival (both March), the Underwater Music Festival at Looe Key Reef (July), and the Conch Republic Independence Celebration in April. If a festival sounds made-up, it probably exists.
