Islamorada runs from Mile Marker 90 to 71 and is known as the Sportfishing Capital of the World. The calendar reflects that. Tournaments most weekends in season, big-money ones in spring and fall. Beyond the boats, there's a big live-music scene at the Lorelei, Morada Bay, and Florida Keys Brewing Co., plus the Village of Islamorada's Beats on the Bay Music Series, which runs November through March. Islamorada also has a massive arts scene: a host of galleries and the Third Thursday Art Walk at the Morada Bay Arts & Cultural District. Spring (March to May) and fall (October to November) are the peak months for fishing. Summer leans local: smaller tournaments, sunset concerts, family events at Founders Park.
